Q: What is SyCara?

  • SyCara is an advanced SEO tool that provides actionable insight, recommendations, auditing, and reporting capabilities. Developed by SEO experts, SyCara’s centralized platform provides scalable and streamlined SEO reporting, site monitoring and workflow management for agencies and enterprise customers.

Q: What makes SyCara different?

  • SyCara’s core competency is its deep, fundamental understanding of online search and the process required to implement it effectively. With decades of experience on both the technology and agency sides of the business, no one understands how to get more out of your SEO efforts than SyCara.
  • SyCara’s comprehensive tool helps you identify SEO opportunities and manage the optimization of your site. SyCara’s online platform lets you sort and filter your SEO results as well as track competitors’ rankings alongside your own, helping you make informed decisions about your SEO strategies.

Q: How accurate is your data?

  • SyCara data is collected in real-time, ensuring search results are accurate and up-to-date. SyCara manages and runs these reports to make sure your results provide a more accurate measurement of your search engine rankings.

Q: Will my website be penalized if I use SyCara?

  • Using the SyCara rank checker will not harm your website’s rankings. Using a typical desktop rank checker increases the risk of your IP being blocked. However, SyCara does not use your IP, which eliminates the risk of website penalization.

Q: Is using SyCara safe for my local IP address?

  • Yes, SyCara runs all report queries so that your personal IP address is completely excluded from reports. This also ensures that your results are not personalized and provides a more accurate measurement of your search engine rankings.

Q: Why don’t my reports match the results that I get when I do a search using my keywords?

  • Search engines often factor-in your search history, location and more to provide search results that are most relevant to you. Since SyCara runs the queries for you, your computer and local IP address are not used and the results reported are not personalized. As a result, the reports generated by SyCara are a better benchmark of how your keywords rank for a majority of users.
  • Additionally, SyCara displays results for the search engines’ primary (organic) rankings and takes into account how universal results affect the organic rankings including places. Universal results such as videos, news, real-time feeds or niche sites, such as blogs, can be analyzed using SyCara tool. Taking into account these many variables that can affect individual search results, your website may often display at a different position than is shown in your SyCara report.

Q: Does SyCara provide insight into how competitors are optimizing their rankings?

  • Yes, SyCara’s Competitor Compare identifies your top competitors’ rankings, so you can track their keyword rankings alongside your own.
    Additionally, the SEO Optimization Report analyzes the top 10 sites for your keywords, and then compares how your site is setup with both on and off page factors taken into consideration.

Q:What about universal and local search results?

  • SyCara provides users with universal and local search results to enhance the personalization of SEO efforts. Providing first-to-market local search results, users can filter their keyword and link results to target a specific zip code or area of the country, to maximize localization efforts for web content.

Q: Can you check for keyword rankings beyond the first 30 listings?

  • Not at this time.

Q: How long will it take for my report to run?

  • The time it takes to run a report can range from minutes to hours depending on the size of the report, including (but not limited to) the number of:

    • Keyword phrases
    • Search engines to scan
    • Pages that need auditing

Q: Can I run more than one report at a time?

  • Yes, because SyCara is entirely web-based, you can run multiple reports at the same time without impacting your computer’s processing capabilities.

Q: How can I get email notifications when my reports are ready for viewing?

  • From the “Reports” tab, select “Report Scheduler”. Select the type of report you would like to run.

    • In the “Email To:” section on the left side, insert your email address.
    • You can also select additional users on your team to send this to under the “Email Report to All Site Users:” section.
    • Under “Run Days” select the days to run the report and/or frequency of the report.
    • Click Run.

Q: I have a report scheduled to run on the 31st, but this month has fewer than 31 days. Will my report run?

  • No, any reports scheduled to run on the 31st will not run in a month with only 30 days. We recommend you set any reports you require on the last day of the month to use the special date option ‘Last Day of Month’.

Q: Where are my online reports and data stored?

  • Online reports and data are securely stored on SyCara’s databases and available for you to view at any time. You can also export your historical data to a CSV file and download your report views to PDF, both of which can be stored on your local computer or network.

Q: If a report is deleted, can it be restored?

  • Currently, reports are not restorable if deleted. However, users can hide reports from the Reports page instead of deleting them.

Q: Will my reports and data remain confidential?

  • Users can only view reports and data they have access to. Users cannot see reports or data in accounts they do not have permission to access. Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their SyCara username and password, and any files that they export/download from SyCara to a local computer or network. Please read SyCara’s Privacy Policy for more information.

Q: What are the system requirements for SyCara?

  • SyCara is an online software platform and does not require you to download or install any software. SyCara works on almost any computer with an Internet connection, including Mac and PC machines.
  • For optimum performance, the following web browsers are recommended:
    • Internet Explorer 8 or higher
    • Firefox 3 or higher
    • Safari 4 or higher
    • Opera 10
    • Chrome

Q: How many countries and regions does SyCara support?

  • SyCara currently supports UK and Canadian search engines, and will be supporting French language engines by the end of Q2 2011. We plan on having full International capabilities, including Chinese, towards the end of Q3 2011.

Q: How do I reset my password?

  • Click User Settings at the top of the page. Under “User Info” type your new password in the “Password” and “Confirm Password” fields. Click Save.

Q: Where do I edit the email address and password for my account?

  • Sign in to your account using your existing credentials and go to “User Settings”. There you can modify your email address and password information.

Q: If I’m not ready to subscribe, is there a trial version available?

  • Trial versions of SyCara can be made available to users. To receive your custom SyCara trial, contact our sales team at 855.479.2272.
